STUDENT JOB AND INTERN SERVICE

This service is offered exclusively for the use of Cornell students (undergraduate and graduate students) and is maintained by the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.

To access the job listings, you must have a valid Cornell NetID.  Any Cornell student, staff, or faculty member with an active CU NetID should be able to access the listings.

Before you conduct a job search, read the Employment Eligibility information on Student Employment, and also read through the general information below.

to search for and view available student jobs as Cornell, and part time jobs in the local Ithaca/Tompkins County area.

Full time jobs and/or internships outside of the local Ithaca/Tompkins County area are listed through the Cornell Career Services site.

“BUYER BEWARE”

It is your responsibility to research the job thoroughly.  Before you accept a job offer, be sure to confirm and clearly understand:

  • Job details, responsibilities, and requirements;
  • Pay rate and pay schedule;
  • Exact work schedule, including start and end date, and days/times;
  • Employer’s expectations

Judge external jobs very carefully.  Beware of phishing attempts (where you are requested to provide personal and confidential information – examples including but not limited to: social security number, date of birth, bank account information, passwords), and/or requests for exchange of monies to occur in order for you to partake in the job.  If you are uncertain about the validity of any job, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment.  Cornell does not contract with outside vendors to send students information about individual job postings.  Be wary of what looks like outside vendors reaching out to you directly about a job opportunity.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB POSTING SERVICE

Not all available jobs are advertised on this service.  Some departments on campus utilize their own online job database (examples listed below).  You should use multiple resources during an active job search.  In addition to the electronic listings, look for jobs advertised on bulletin boards and in the local newspapers, and use your network contacts.
