Bring your original, unexpired identity and employment authorization documents. See the list of Form I-9 Acceptable Documents.
Your hiring department is your primary point of contact for the I-9 process. However, because the start of the semester often brings a high volume of new hires, Cornell will offer Student I-9 Processing HUBs during the weeks of August 18, August 25, and September 1 (excluding Labor Day) to help ensure timely compliance. HUBs will be open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Visit the I-9 HUBs webpage for locations, requirements, and details.

Completing Form I-9
All U.S. employers must properly complete Form I-9, “Employment Eligibility Verification,” for every new hire (including student employees) – citizen or non-citizen – within three business days of the employee’s start date.
After a student is hired in Workday, they’ll receive a notification prompting them to complete Form I-9.
Step 1: Student must attest to their employment authorization by completing and signing Section 1 of Form I-9 no later than their first day of work, but not before accepting a job offer.
Step 2: Present acceptable documents as evidence of identity and employment authorization within three business days of their start date to an authorized Cornell Representative. All documents must be original and unexpired. Photocopies or digital images are not acceptable.
